ABYSSAL DECAY ANNOUNCES MONUMENTAL NEW ALBUM CALL OF THE ABYSS
The relentless thrash metal band returns with a crushing sonic assault rooted in the terrifying mythos of Nihilash, the Faceless Sovereign.
Bellingham, WA — July 24, 2026
Underground metal force Abyssal Decay announced its full-length album, Call of the Abyss, with an October 30, 2026 release date. The record brings together chaotic, razor-sharp riffs and sinister cosmic horror in an uncompromising voice of rebellion.
Forged in the darkest recesses of the underground, Call of the Abyss plunges into the lore of the Abyss—an endless ocean of living rot outside of time—and its faceless emissary, Nihilash. Themes of corrupted power, mass madness, and memory-erasing destruction shape the record’s brutal world.
Decay is not destruction—it is reproduction.
The mythos of Nihilash
Call of the Abyss is a concept-driven journey through the dark harvest of human existence. Its cosmic horror carries a stark truth: death is merely the first layer of rot.
A first transmission from the abyss
“On The Desolate Plain” is the first single from the record. It opens a rift into the barren landscapes shaped by Nihilash and offers a glimpse of the album’s world.
The original announcement scheduled the single for August 7, 2026. This page preserves the press release as published on July 24, 2026.
“Where Nihilash walks, death is not an end. It is merely the first layer of rot. Our music is a relentless assault on the senses—infused with stories of serial killers, corrupted power, and the untold horrors of the world. We stand for those who crave intensity and meaning in their music. Join us on a journey through the abyss and witness the decay of convention.”
